With over 50 successful exhibitions under his belt, Larry Mahan has shown his art work from Yale University in New Haven, CT to Provincetown, MA. Larry Mahan started his love and talent of art at an early age selling his first oil painting while in high school.
Larry attended Eastern Connecticut University where he earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology after changing from a Bachelor of Arts degree. After many years as a Psychotherapist and moving to Provincetown he returned to his first love art.
Today he moves from Acrylics to oil as he paints the landscapes of Cape Cod. He has trained with various teachers at Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill and Provincetown Art Association and Museum.
He participated in an art popup recently at 444 Commercial Street Gallery as well as art openings at his home where he donated some of the proceeds to underprivileged youth on Cape Cod.
Larry can be seen riding his “art bike” around town, setting up his easel to capture the changing light and color that makes Provincetown an excellent backdrop for an artisan creativity.
